Chatting with the French Open Champ

Todd Peterson, our French Open champion, is celebrating his victory at a work conference in Denver, where he reports feeling a “Mile High.” Earlier today, I caught up with Todd at his conference presentation, where I hijacked the Q&A portion to get a few reactions about his most recent achievement.

(1) How does this championship run compare to your US Open title from two years ago?

Each title is special, of course, but my returning to form at the same time as Wozniacki and Rafa is particularly satisfying.

(2) How did you know Wozniacki would make a deep run at Roland Garros this year?

The only constant in women's tennis recently has been my faith in Wozniacki, and once she believes in herself as much as I do, we'll be able to reach new heights together.

(3) Are you taking some time off to celebrate your victory, or will you immediately start to prepare for Wimbledon?

My celebrations will be curtailed by the need to occasionally attend scientific presentations, but a glass or two will be lifted before returning to Nashville to tackle the grass courts (and my own lawn, since I've been gone for a while).
