One Rule Change for 2018: No More Alternate Picks

We do have one rule change for this coming year. Unfortunately, we are no longer going to be using alternate picks. I really liked the use of alternates, and I went back and forth on this, losing many hours of sleep in the process. Ultimately, though, the amount of extra work this created for me turned me into Mr. Yuk.

As David Banner might say, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry, much less green and angry.

So, starting in 2018, if one of your players withdraws before their first match of the tournament, you will receive five points for that player (this gets doubled to 10 points for the major events). This is approximately the average number of points that an FTLer receives per player in a given tournament. Keep in mind, though, that this is five points across the board for any player. Regardless of the player's seeding, regardless of where you have them weighted, regardless of whether they are a Lone Wolf pick or a Commoner, you'll get five points for that player.

Also, please notify me when one of your players withdraws (and please do so before the quarterfinal mark of each tournament), as some withdrawals may escape my attention. You know, it's not that easy being green.
