Welcome to FTL 2017

Greeting, FTLers!  It's January, which can only mean one thing: the start of FTL!  As most of us know, fantasy tennis is a marathon, not a sprint.  That is, unless you are Andy Fullerton, in which case you can probably sprint the entire marathon and even click your heels at the finish line.

If you click on our 2017 roster, you'll see that we've got an All-Star group of FTLers vying for this year's title.  Scanning the list, you'll see a rich assortment of savvy veterans accompanied by two new members.  Give a hearty hello to Danny Kapovic, team owner of Double Fault, and Jeff Langlais, team owner of Net Heads7.  Be sure to extend them a warm greeting whenever you pass them on the street this year.  Also, in keeping with tradition, our two-time FTL champion, Jeremy Freese, has rebranded his team, which is now called Loco for Coco!!

Speaking of which, who wouldn't go crazy for this year's collection of prizes?  If you click on the 2017 prizes, you'll see what's in store for all our winners, including FTL's newest prize sensation, a jumbo 9-inch Penn tennis ball.  This goes to our Australian Open champ, which happens to be our first event coming up in less than two weeks!

But before we get started, be sure to check out this year's rules, which feature one small tweak: the Tragedy of the Commons penalty is now 50%.  This means that when 75% or more FTLers select the same player, whatever points you get from that player will be cut in half.  Other than that, it's the same great game, sponsored by the same great company, Midwest Sports!

I'll be in touch next week as we head to Melbourne for the start of FTL 2017!  Start studying!
